Iran has launched more than a dozen ballistic missiles strikes on two Iraqi military bases housing U.S. forces in retaliation to the airstrike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani last week.

Iran strikes on two Iraqi military bases

Iran attacked the Al Asad and Erbil military bases. The Al Asad airbase houses have 1,500 U.S troops and coalition forces. The base was already on high alert after the recent attacks against ISIS dread a revenge attack by Iran.

A US official told there were no reports of any US casualties up to now, but an assessment of the impact of the strikes is underway. A report from an Iraqi security source indicated there were Iraqi casualties, but Iraqi security officials later told there were no casualties among Iraqi security forces.

Iran Claims The Attack On US Bases

Mohammad Javad Zarif the Foreign Minister of Iran told on Twitter that the response was meant for the American attack that killed Soleimani.

Trump Response To Iran Attack :

President Trump tweeted shortly afterward, insisting “All Is Well” while adding that they had not yet assessed possible casualties.
